Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the Merrimac Public Library! Our volunteer program provides opportunities to members of our community.
If you are in grades 7-12 click here to learn more about the available volunteer options, download the Teen Volunteer Application and for staff contact information.
If you are over 18 years old and interested in becoming a library volunteer, please print and fill out the Adult Volunteer Application. You can email the completed application to Aila Colburn acolburn@merrimaclibrary.org or drop it off at the library anytime during our regular opening hours.
Projects may vary depending on the time of year and the number of available volunteers. Sample volunteer projects include:
Cleaning
- Dusting book stacks
- Cleaning DVD’s
- Cleaning Computers
Shelving
- Putting books away on the shelves
Shelf-Reading
- Putting books in order
- Straightening the shelves
- Alphabetizing the collection
- Shifting
Shifting
- Shifting collection to make more room. (Requires Lifting)
