Library Cards

Merrimac Public Library cards are free to Merrimac residents ages 6 and up. Teens (ages 12 and up) can apply for a card in-person at the Merrimac Library or online. Please bring proof of identity and Merrimac address, such as a Driver’s license, report card, piece of mail, etc..

To be eligible for a MVLC eCard you need to: be a Massachusetts resident, and currently not have a library card from an MVLC member library. Register here for an eCard.

The Merrimac Teen Action Group (TAG)

The Merrimac Teen Action Group (TAG) gives students in Grades 7-12 a chance to earn community service hours through volunteer hours at the library, helping the Youth Services librarians at programs for younger children, decorating the children’s and Young Adult spaces, creating YA book displays or writing book reviews for our website. 

• Students in grades 9-12, are you looking for a way to fulfill your community service hours?  Volunteers in the Youth Services Dept. help with tasks such as: reshelve books, process out withdrawn books, prepare crafts for Storytime, clean shelves and tidy up the children’s room. Stop by the library to pick up a volunteer application or click here to print a copy.  
• Are you a student in grades 7-12 looking for your next favorite book? Find out what other teens think by reading book selections chosen by and reviewed by teens. Teens in grades 7-12 can submit their own review using our Book Review Form and earn community services hours too!  To read the reviews and the guidelines for submitting go here.
