Ages 3 – 6

Register and get your reading logs at the library. When you have finished your log you'll receive a free kids meal at Friendly's and Chipoltle and get to pick out a free book!

Ages 7 – 12

Pick up a Summer Reading Challenge Bookmark at the library and when completed you'll receive a free kids meal at Friendly's and Chipotle and get to pick out a free book. You'll also get a chance to win raffle prizes such as passes to Launch Trampoline Park, Canobie Lake Park and Water Country!

Ages 13 – 17

Fill out a raffle ticket for every book you’ve read throughout the program and you’ll get to choose which raffle prizes to compete for such as passes to an Escape Room, Canobie Lake Park, Water Country or Metro Rock!

Ages 18+

Fill out a raffle ticket for every book you’ve read throughout the program and you’ll get to choose which raffle prizes to compete for such as gift certificates to Newton Greenhouse, Commune Cafe, Unique Nail Salon and Board & Brush Studio!

The Merrimac Public Library has subscribed to Rocket Languages. Learn a language with online courses from Rocket Languages, which offers 11 different foreign languages.


The Merrimac Public Library has a Facebook page where patrons can connect with more library information. Facebook members can become a fan of the library page. Fans will receive occasional library news updates.

The Shop Around the Corner…

The Children’s room at the library sells gently used books provided by generous donations from the Merrimac community. Books donated (no VHS tapes please) may be added to the collection or be put up for sale. All proceeds support the children’s programs at the Library.
